AT&T and Gibson Guitar present new music competition for student bands and artists. Santa Monica, CA (September 29, 2008) – Many of the biggest bands have had their roots on college campuses, whether it was as students themselves, or in developing their core fan bases. Now, Campus MusicFest brings together thousands of music-minded students to reveal the hottest new student-bands and artists. Who will be the next R.E.M., Dave Matthews Band, or Red Hot Chili Peppers? Stay tuned to see… Throughout the upcoming school-year, bands will compete on 45 campuses for prizes including gear, cash, and exposure provided by AT&T, Gibson Guitar, Our Stage, and more. The top local acts will be funneled into regional finales in LA, San Francisco, Seattle, Austin, Orlando, Atlanta, Washington DC, NYC, or Boston. This all leads up to the national grand finale in Los Angeles in June, 2009. Student-bands and artists can sign up at www.campusmusicfest.com, and start promoting their profiles. All participants must have a currently-enrolled college or university student in the group to qualify. Campus MusicFest held a successful pilot this past spring in New York City. The three finalists brought it live at the Gibson Showroom in NYC on May 01, 2008 and were each awarded Epiphone guitars and Virtual CDs, with the winning band, A Moment's Worth, walking away with a Mac Mini, Logic Pro, and the custom Epiphone Les Paul Jr. For more information, please visit: www.campusmusicfest.com or contact: ATL: 404.748.0012 |
